The Fairmount Park Horseshoe Pit project was the result of several years of planning and collaborating between the East Fairmount Park Coalition, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Apiary Studio designed and built the horseshoe pits, custom bench seating, and planted six new Parrotia persica trees to shade the regulation dimensioned court. The site is located in East Fairmount Park near the Dauphin Street entrance, across from Woodford Mansion and north of the Miles Gray Tennis Courts. Use of the court is free and open to the public. Players may bring their own equipment or borrow equipment from nearby Woodford Mansion.
