Apiary Studio

We designed and installed an eclectic plant palette for this garden strip bordering a music venue in Callowhill, an iconic Philadelphia concert venue. Anchored by Rhus typhina ‘Laciniata’ and ‘Tiger Eyes’ to reference the wild staghorn sumacs growing atop the nearby Redding Viaduct, the herbaceous mix was inspired by several summer trips to the prairies of the Great Plains—plants all too accustomed to whipping winter winds and baking summer sun—which we think will translate well to the stark parking lot backdrop.
